The National Weather Service issued a major winter storm warning for the Kansas City region. The storm system is expected to bring 6-10” of snow beginning Tuesday evening and continuing  throughout the day Wednesday.

Due to this warning, the City of Blue Springs urges residents to avoid unnecessary travel tomorrow and move vehicles off all streets for the duration of the storm.  Vehicles parked on streets impede plowing efforts and can slow emergency response vehicles.

Public Works primary crews will be pre-treating the roads in anticipation for tonight’s storm and are expected to enter Phase I operations early tomorrow morning.  Crews will be working in 12-hour shifts until the storm subsides and streets are clear. For more information about the City’s Snow Removal Plan, go to www.bluespringsgov.com/snow
