Join the City of Blue Springs and Blue Springs Parks and Recreation at 11 a.m. on June 17, 2021 to celebrate the new playground at Hidden Valley Park, 6500 NW Valley View Road.
This much-needed park upgrade was funded by the approval of the ½-cent Parks Sales Tax in 2017. The playground features brand new playground equipment creating a safe and inclusive place for outdoor play.
Additionally, with the help of a matching grant from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources Scrap Tire Grant Program, more than 34,000 pounds of recycled rubber from Missouri scrap tires were used to make the playground safety surface.
“We are thrilled to be able to come together and celebrate the newest playground upgrade funded by the 2017 voter-approved Parks Sales Tax,” said Dennis Dovel, Director of Blue Springs Parks and Recreation. “This is just one of many improvements we have been able to make and we are excited that through the renewal approved in April, we will continue addressing much-needed parks needs throughout our system for years to come.”
“As we finish the 2017 Parks Sales Tax programs this next year, we look forward to beginning the new projects outlined in the recent Parks Sales Tax Renewal in 2023,” Dovel said.
