Blue Springs, Mo. – The City of Blue Springs has rejoined the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) Solid Waste Management District (SWMD) Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program for the 2021 calendar year. As a participating member, Blue Springs residents can utilize year-round facilities in Kansas City and Lee’s Summit, as well as drop-off events held April through October. Details on a Blue Springs drop-off event will be provided once a date and location have been determined.
Materials that may be disposed of at the Kansas City and Lee’s Summit facilities include automotive fluids, batteries, CFL light bulbs, household cleaners, hazardous liquids and solvents, lawn and garden products, pesticides, pool chemicals, paints and related products. Explosives, tires, asbestos, and yard, medical and commercial waste are not accepted at facilities or at any drop-off events. Commercial waste includes waste from nonprofits, churches, home-based businesses, and rental property owners. Proof of residency is required at facilities and events.
