Jackson County has issued a Stay at Home Order effective 12:01 a.m., Tuesday, March 24, requiring residents to stay-at-home except for essential needs. The intent of this order is to ensure the maximum number of people self-isolate in their places of residence to reduce the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
The City of Blue Springs falls under the jurisdiction of the Jackson County Public Health State of Emergency, therefore, the Stay At Home Order implemented by Jackson County Executive Frank White applies to residents and businesses in Blue Springs.
There are exceptions for travel to meet basic needs and to provide essential services. Jackson County has provided a list of Frequently Asked Questions to help guide residents through this process. Residents may call Jackson County Health Department for additional questions at 816-404-9883.
During this time, the City of Blue Springs will continue to provide vital City Services while modifying staff hours to follow the most current Centers For Disease Control (CDC) recommendations. City Hall and all City facilities, including the Howard L. Brown Public Safety Building, 1100 SW Smith Street; Vesper Hall, 400 NW Vesper St; The Fieldhouse, 425 NE Mock Ave; and Public Works Operations, 500 SE Sunnyside School Rd will remain closed to the public until April 24.

Police Department staff will continue to perform normal operations, but the Public Safety Building will be closed to the public. Call 911 for emergencies and (816) 228-0151 for non-emergency police services.
Blue Springs Municipal Court will be postponing all dockets in April to a later date. Court staff will be notifying defendants and lawyers of new dates soon.
The Adams Pointe Golf Course will close in accordance with this order. City Parks will remain open, however, due to recommendations from the CDC, playground use is discouraged.
This is a rapidly changing situation and the City is monitoring it closely and continuously communicating with other government and health agencies. We will continue to provide updates and take additional measures as needed for the safety of our residents and employees as the situation warrants.
