BLUE SPRINGS, MO – The City of Blue Springs has commenced construction on improvements to NE Roanoke Drive between Adams Dairy Parkway and NE Porter Road.
The project will widen this portion of NE Roanoke Drive from a 20-foot wide country road to a 36-foot wide collector street. The improvements will also include curb, gutters, storm sewers and sidewalks.
This project is a result of current and projected future growth in the area that has led to an increase in traffic. The improvements will substantially increase the safety of drivers on the road and support continued development and growth.
At this time crews are removing trees in the right-of-way to allow for the grade change, and utility relocation will begin shortly with the road construction to follow. Motorists are encouraged to find an alternate route, as the ongoing construction will cause closures of NE Roanoke Drive between Adams Dairy Parkway and NE Porter Road. The project is expected to be complete by spring 2020, weather permitting.
