[ARCHIVED] Vesper Hall receives Re-Accreditation

BLUE SPRINGS, MO. –  The National Institute of Senior Centers has once again designated Vesper Hall has a Nationally Accredited 50-Plus Community Center.  Vesper Hall, 400 NW Vesper Street, is one of just two senior centers in the state of Missouri who have received this prestigious designation.

“We are pleased to have the Vesper Hall 50-Plus Community Center on the list of more than 120 senior centers in the nation who meet the standards developed by the NISC,” said Maureen O’Leary, NISC Program Manager. “These are centers that are held up as models for others to follow. We congratulate Vesper Hall and the City of Blue Springs in striving to meet the needs of the older population in your community.”

The NISC cited the dedicated staff, a welcoming atmosphere, strong community connections and a wide variety of programming for the 50-plus community as qualities that stood out during the re-accreditation process.

“We are honored that the National Institute of Senior Centers has again chosen to bestow Vesper Hall with this prestigious designation,” said Dennis Dovel, Director of Blue Springs Parks and Recreation. “It is vital to have a welcoming and active space for the seniors in our community. Thank you to our wonderful staff, volunteers and our City’s leaders for their continued support of Vesper Hall and our senior programming.”

Vesper Hall was originally accredited in 2007 and this is the second re-accreditation process since that time. Vesper Hall is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday and Friday.
