Blue Springs, Mo. – Community Development will host three public forums between July 25 and July 27 to allow residents, business owners and community members the chance to give input for the development of the Specific Area Plan for the C2 neighborhood.
The C2 neighborhood spans the area east of Highway 7 between Interstate 70 and Moreland School Road. The City will hold a series of public discussions to begin a Community Dialogue and seek input for a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, & Threats) Analysis. The public sessions are:
- Businesses Community – July 25, 4-6 p.m., Adams Pointe Golf Club, 1601 NE R. D. Mize Road
- Residents (Focusing on Area North of Highway AA) – July 25, 6:30-8 p.m., Adams Pointe Golf Club, 1601 NE R. D. Mize Road
- Residents (Focusing on Area South of Highway AA) – July 27, 6-7:30 p.m., Blue Springs South High School (Library), 1200 SE Adams Dairy Pkwy.
“By speaking with residents, business owners and community members about development in and around their neighborhood, we hope to create and enhance places for community involvement,” said Community Development Director Scott Allen. “This approach is helping us create Specific Area Plans that move beyond land use and adapt to our growing community.”
Each Specific Area Plan is created in conjunction with the policies, goals, and targets of the city-wide Comprehensive Plan adopted in 2015. The City will provide preliminary Area Assessments of the C2 neighborhood during the public meetings for discussion. Community Development will then review feedback given and aim to finalize a Specific Area Plan for C2 within two months of the public meetings.
If you are unable to attend the meetings, please visit Community Development at City Hall located at 903 W. Main Street, Blue Springs, Mo. Residents and Business owners can also email staff directly with input. Please reach out to Matt Wright, AICP at mwright@bluespringsgov.com or Karen Findora at kfindora@bluespringsgov.com.
