Blue Springs, Mo. – The newly renovated Blue Springs Fieldhouse, formerly SportsCity, is opening to members on Monday, September 28!
Both residents and non-residents can enjoy the Blue Springs Fieldhouse by coming in-person and signing up for membership during regular hours of operation:
• Monday - Thursday 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
• Friday – 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Saturday - 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Sunday – 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
“I invite everyone to visit the new Blue Springs Fieldhouse!” said Mayor Carson Ross. “Thanks to the generosity of Ms. Linda Landahl Edison, we were able to repurpose an existing building to provide an excellent recreation and fitness location while meeting the changing needs of our community.”
The Fieldhouse will host a Grand Opening Celebration kicked off with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, October 2 at 3 p.m. The celebration continues throughout the day and into Saturday, October 3 featuring giveaways and refreshments.
“We are very excited about the numerous leisure and active recreational opportunities the Blue Springs Fieldhouse gives our residents and visitors,” said Parks & Recreation Director Dennis Dovel. “The facility offers a variety of fitness courses, advanced equipment, multiple hard-surfaced courts, artificial turf field, walking tracks and a Kidz Corner to help people reach, track and maintain their fitness goals. The Fieldhouse allows us to provide fitness and recreation for the entire family – regardless of fitness level.”
Since the City’s acquisition in late 2014, City crews, SFS Architecture and Turner Construction Company have worked to renovate the existing building into the new Blue Springs Fieldhouse. Along with the previously mentioned features, the Fieldhouse offers users a state-of-the-art fitness center measuring 6,500-square-feet that is equipped with a variety of cardio machines, weight equipment and free Wi-Fi. The facility also offers group exercise rooms including spin and aerobics studios offering both on-demand and instructor-led classes.
