Blue Springs, Mo. – The Blue Springs Code of Ordinances has recently been amended, streamlining the process to obtain a city issued Employee Liquor Permit.
To renew or obtain a City employee liquor permit, applicants can now complete their training online through the State of Missouri Alcohol Responsibility Training (SMART) program. SMART is an interactive, web-based course available 24/7 and free of charge to people who own or work for any Missouri establishment licensed to sell alcohol. To access the SMART program visit http://wellness.missouri.edu/SMART/ and create an account.
After completing the online training program with a score of 100%, applicants simply bring the following items to the Blue Springs Police Department, Records Unit located in the Municipal Annex, 1304 W. Main Street:
• a copy of the SMART certificate
• a completed Blue Springs Employee Liquor Permit Application
• proof of identification.
The application fee is $20 and permits are valid for two years. The City will no longer issue temporary permits and will honor all current permits until they expire.
