Blue Springs, Mo. – The City of Blue Springs is alerting motorists that Walnut Street at the intersection of Woods Chapel Road will be closed beginning Wednesday, September 10 and will remain closed for approximately 3 months, weather pending. This closure will allow for the construction of a roundabout on Woods Chapel Road at Walnut Street.
West-bound Walnut Street traffic will be detoured north on 15th Street and west on NW Vesper Street to Woods Chapel Road. To access Walnut Street from Woods Chapel Road motorist will be detoured east on NW Vesper Street and south on 15th Street to Walnut Street.
Woods Chapel Road will remain open throughout the course of the project but motorists should expect construction-related delays. Old Mill Park will remain open to the public, but closed to motorists during construction. For both the safety of construction workers and drivers, we urge commuters to be cautious in work zones.
