[ARCHIVED] Draft versions of the 2011-2012 Annual Action Plan and the 2011-2016 Consolidated Plan now available

he City of Blue Springs has published the Draft 2011-2012 Annual Action Plan and the Draft 2011-2016 Consolidated Plan for review and public comment.

The Annual Action Plan describes the specific Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) activities that the city will undertake in each fiscal program year of the 5-Year Consolidated Plan. The 5-Year Consolidated Plan covers the period of 2011-2016 and provides the framework for a planning process used by entitlement communities, of which Blue Springs is, to identify housing, homeless, community and economic development needs and resources; and to tailor a strategic plan for meeting those needs as required by U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Both reports are available on the City's Web site under the Community Developement Department.

The general public has a period of 30 days from Tuesday, June 21, 2011 to offer comments on the proposed 2011-2012 Annual Action Plan and the 2011-2016 Consolidated Plan submission.

The City shall consider the views of residents, public agencies and other interested parties in preparing its final submission and attach a summary of such comments as they relate to the each of the plans. Following the 30 days, the City Council will approve the Annual Action Plan and Consolidated Plan. The Annual Action Plan and the Consolidated Plan will then be submitted to HUD for their review and approval.
