[ARCHIVED] Optional Water Line Protection Program not affiliated with the City of Blue Springs

BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. – Blue Springs homeowners may receive a notice in the mail or see advertisements in local papers from American Water Resources of Missouri offering a Water Line Protection Program. The Water Line Protection Program is a service offered by American Water Resources.

The City of Blue Springs is not affiliated with the program in any way and cannot accept calls for this service. American Water Resources is a private company and this insurance is entirely optional for homeowners. The City of Blue Springs is neutral on the solicitation and the Water Line Protection Program.

Homeowners are responsible for maintaining and repairing the water lines that run from their homes to their water meters as referenced in the Municipal Code §700.070(E). If a leak or break occurs on this portion of the water line, the homeowner is responsible for the cost of repairs and water usage rates associated with the line break. The City of Blue Springs is responsible for maintenance and repair of the water lines from the water meter to the water main.
