BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. – On Wednesday, November 10, construction will begin on the 2011 Community Development Block Grant Program's Downtown Decorative Concrete Crosswalk project on Main Street between 8th, 9th and 10th Streets.
Two-way traffic will be maintained on most of Main Street, but will be shifted over to the south side of the road during construction. On-street parking will be reduced to accommodate the through traffic lanes.
The intersection of 10th and Main Street will be closed to traffic due to intersection upgrades. This intersection will be closed beginning Monday, November 15 and will be detoured to 11th Street between Main and Vesper Streets until improvements can be completed.
This project is scheduled to be completed by December 25; weather pending. Amino Brothers is the contractor for this project.
The City of Blue Springs was designated as an Entitlement Community under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Downtown Decorative Concrete Crosswalk project is fully funded by this grant.
