The City of Blue Springs is proud to announce that Lake Remembrance is open for small personal boats for fishing or pleasure. Lake Remembrance, located in Gregory O. Grounds Park, is a 54-surface-acre lake and has been available for fishing by shoreline or from a fishing dock for the past few years.
Gregory O. Grounds Park bike/walking trail and parking lot improvements have been completed enabling the City of Blue Springs and the Missouri Department of Conservation to monitor lake activities.
The boat ramp will not be opened to the public to use, those interested in using a boat may carry or portage boats from the parking lot into the lake. Small boats, such as Johnboats, v-bottom, canoes, kayaks, paddleboats, sail boats, and inflated boats may be used. No gas powered motors or gas tanks in boats are permitted; trolling motors (electric powered motors) are allowed.
Boating on the lake is only allowed during daylight hours. Vehicles with trailers must be parked on Jefferson Street and not in the parking lot since the lot is not designed to accommodate trailer parking. Boats must be removed daily from the lake. Personal Floatation Devices are recommended and swimming in the lake is not permitted.
Signs are posted at Lake Remembrance addressing lake safety and information on rules and enforcement.
