Parks Master Plan

The first ever Blue Springs Parks Master Plan was presented to the City Council on November 7 and has been formally adopted by the Council. It will serve as our long-term guide for the future of our Parks system and will play a vital role in shaping the Blue Springs community. 

Our City’s Parks Master plan is the result of a year-long assessment of the City’s 21 parks by GreenPlay LLC, a national consulting service. This assessment included an evaluation of various components of each park such as play areas, pathways, equipment, accessibility, restrooms, etc. Each component was evaluated to see how well it met expectations for intended use and rankings were given for each location using a three-tier system that classified them as below, at or exceeding expectations. In addition to this assessment, Parks held several stake holder meetings and conducted two Parks Master Plan surveys; one survey was statistically-valid and the other was community-wide.

* Within each of the four key areas objectives were established along with specific action steps to be implemented by staff
