Planning Commission

OVERVIEW

The Planning Commission is responsible for advising and making recommendations regarding planning and zoning regulations in the City to the Mayor and City Council.

Established by Municipal Code Section 402.020

On April 18, 2022 the City Council adopted Rules of Procedure for each of the City's Boards and Commissions.  The Rules of Procedure for the Planning Commission can be viewed here. Rules of Procedure Planning Commission

MEETINGS

Meetings of the Planning Commission are held on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Howard L. Brown Public Safety Building, Council Chamber, located at 1100 SW Smith Street.

MEMBERS

The Planning Commission is comprised of nine members who are residents that serve four-year terms and are appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council.  Members must be residents of Blue Springs; best efforts will be made to appoint equal representation from each Council District.
