Building permits and land use applications can now be submitted electronically, via mail, or dropped off at City Hall.  Please follow the instructions to assist you in submitting your proposal or for resubmitting documents. You may also submit select permits and license applications by visiting our Citizens Self Service Portal.

IMPORTANT NOTICE 

The City's Code Administration Division is currently experiencing a high volume of building permit activity. Due to recent staff shortages and operational changes related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the standard processing and review time for building permits has been delayed. Staff is continuing to process and review permits as quickly and as efficiently as possible. If you have any questions, please call 816-228-0117 or 816-228-0118 or Email. ​Citizens Self Service Portal

We are pleased to announce our new online permitting tool, the Citizens Self Service (CSS) Portal!  This new tool allows us to accept select permit and license applications, and payments online.  Before you can submit applications online, you must create a new account and be approved. If you previously had an account with the Citizen Access Portal, you will need to create a new account with CSS.  Citizen Self Service Portal customers will be responsible for service fees if paying by credit/debit cards.  Credit/debit card fees include 3.29% for online transactions and 2.99% for in-person fees. You may also be responsible for any fees associated with your credit or bank accounts.  There will be a $20 service fee for all returned items.
