Fishing Contests

Join The Sunset Optimist Club of Blue Springs and Lake Lotawana Optimist Club along with Blue Springs Parks & Recreation for the 32nd annual Free Blue Springs Fishing Derby for children ages 5 -14. The lake will be freshly stocked just for this event, so bring your fishing pole and bait! There will be winners for largest fish in each category and a casting contest. All participants receive a goody bag, hot dog, chips and drink.

  • Event is free, however participants must register day of the event with the Optimist Club to participate.
