As of Friday, May 14, 2021, with the expiration of the Jackson County Health Order, masks in indoor facilities, businesses and public spaces are no longer required.  This includes City of Blue Springs buildings and facilities including City Hall, the Public Safety Building, Fieldhouse and Vesper Hall.

The announcement follows the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s revision that individuals who are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 can resume activities without wearing a mask or social distancing.

It is important to note:

  • Masks for unvaccinated individuals are strongly recommended.
  • Avoiding large crowds indoors and outdoors and frequent hand-washing are encouraged.
  • Private and public businesses, places of worship, and schools may require masks, social distancing, and other restrictions at their discretion.
  • Masks are required on public transportation per federal guidelines.

 Vaccine Availability

Vaccines are now readily available for free to anyone 12 or older. If you are interested in receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, there are several options including vaccination events hosted by the Jackson County Health Department, local pharmacies and more.
