[ARCHIVED] City Hall, Vesper Hall set to re-open to the public April 5, 2021

City Hall

On Monday, April 5, 2021, Blue Springs City Hall and Vesper Hall will re-open to the public.

“We are encouraged by the positive downward trend in the region’s COVID cases and increased availability of the COVID vaccine,” said Mayor Carson Ross. “This, coupled with facility improvements made to City Hall and Vesper Hall to protect our staff and residents, has enabled us to feel comfortable in our decision to re-open these facilities to the public.”

Glass has been installed at all City Hall and Vesper Hall counters. In addition, social distancing guidelines and Jackson County mask policies will be enforced to protect the health and safety of residents and City staff while conducting business at City Hall.

All no-contact methods of conducting City business available while City Hall was closed to the public will still be available. This includes drop-boxes and online services for planning, development and public works engineering. Additionally, Water/Sewer Payments can be made by calling (816) 228-0220, utilizing the secure drop box at City Hall or by going online to our website at http://www.bluespringsgov.com/utilitybilling

Vesper Hall will re-open with a modified schedule and pre-registration requirements for all classes, events and lunches. Walk-ins will not be allowed at this time. Social distancing protocols and Jackson County mask policies will be enforced. The Jackson County Health Department has approved the opening protocols to ensure it meets the current Jackson County Health orders related to Covid-19 and the Safe Re-opening plan of Jackson County. Please go to www.bluespringsgov.com/vesper for more information on the Vesper Hall Re-Opening.

“We know our senior residents have been anxious to begin socializing again at Vesper Hall. This re-opening plan will allow for that in a way that protects the health and safety of our residents,” Ross said.

These facilities have been closed since March 17, 2020 in an effort to protect residents and staff and reduce the spread of COVID-19.
