[ARCHIVED] Public Safety Citizen’s Advisory Board hosts Community Forum on Medical Marijuana in Blue Springs

BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. –  Join the Public Safety Citizen’s Advisory Board for a community forum on medical marijuana in Blue Springs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26. The event will take place at the Howard L. Brown Public Safety Building and will be viewable in real-time via Facebook Live on the City’s Facebook page.

Assistant Director of Community and Economic Development, Mike Mallon, and Police Chief, Bob Muenz, will speak on the new Missouri medical marijuana laws and what that means for the City of Blue Springs. Following the presentations, citizens are encouraged to ask questions and join a community discussion about the new laws – both in person and via Facebook Live.

“I encourage all residents to come and join our discussion on Medical Marijuana in Blue Springs,” Muenz said. “The changes to Missouri’s medical marijuana laws are a new area for all of us and at this forum we can answer your questions on how the City will be handling proposed medical marijuana businesses. We will also discuss how these changes relate to public safety.”

The meeting will be streamed on the City’s Facebook page and will air live on CTV7 – Comcast Cable Channel 7 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99.  Residents can submit questions by emailing city@bluespringsgov.com, tweeting City’s Twitter handle @bluespringsgov or commenting on the City’s Facebook livestream at www.facebook.com/bluespringsgov.

A possible quorum of the City Council may attend the Public Safety Citizens’ Advisory Board Forum. The meeting is held in compliance with the State of Missouri’s Open Meeting Laws.
