Blue Springs, Mo. – The Blue Springs Public Works Department will kick-off its fifth annual Public Works celebration on Thursday, May 17 from 5-8 p.m. at the Public Works facility located on 500 S.E. Sunnyside School Road.
This FREE family event is an opportunity to learn more about the people, projects and services of the City’s Public Works Department. Families can participate in an array of activities throughout the evening, including balloon characters, games, free food, prize drawings and demonstrations of the equipment the City uses to provide vital services like maintaining our streets and water supply.
“I look forward to this opportunity to give residents a look into the overall operations of the Blue Springs Public Works department,” said Public Works Director Chris Sandie. “It’s a chance for residents to see the intense nature of our work but it’s also a celebration and a way for us to say thank you for their continued support.”
This event is held to celebrate National Public Works Week. For the past 58 years, Public Works Week has been celebrated to highlight the contributions of Public Works employees and their efforts to maintain and improve the quality of living in their communities.
