[ARCHIVED] Blue Springs Police Department – Shooting Incident Update

Blue Springs, MO - On Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at approximately 00:37a.m., the Blue Springs Police Officers were dispatched to the 1700 Block of SW Park Ridge Drive in reference to shots fired in the area. Upon arrival officers located a Hispanic male, 46 year of age in the parking lot of Park Ridge Townhomes deceased from an apparent gun shot.

Witnesses gave police a description of a car that several people fled in. Officers heading to the scene saw the car speeding away from the area and tried to pull it over. The vehicle ended up in a ditch near 30th Terrace, Independence, MO.
Two people fled from the car into nearby woods. Officers found a third person in the vehicle who had sustained a gunshot wound. That person was taken to a local hospital.

Currently, two persons of interest are being questioned in reference to this investigation.

The Blue Springs Police Department Investigations Unit is currently working with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office, as well as other agencies on this investigation.

This case is still under investigation, as detectives are following leads regarding these persons of interest.
