Blue Springs, Mo. – On Wednesday, April 22 the City of Blue Springs will host its 25th Annual Arbor Day Celebration in City Hall located at 903 W. Main Street. Parks & Recreation staff will set up a booth with environmental displays and information about tree selection and care.
“We are honored to celebrate our 25th year as a Tree City USA,” said Mayor Carson Ross. “Trees beautify our neighborhoods, clean our air and improve our quality of life to make Blue Springs an even better place to live.”
Since 1990, the City has been a recipient of the annual Tree City USA Award. This award is given by the National Arbor Day Foundation to recognize select communities for their efforts to sustain and improve trees in the municipality. To recognize more than two decades of receiving the Tree City USA Award, a proclamation issued by Mayor Carson Ross will be shown during the event.
