Blue Springs, Mo. – The City of Blue Springs invites residents to submit applications to volunteer to serve on a City board or commission. Applicants are encouraged to apply by Monday, April 13.
Blue Springs has fourteen boards and commissions, most of which currently have vacancies to fill. Each board or commission holds regular public meetings and is comprised of volunteers from within the community who serve without compensation and on a term basis. Each board and commission provides recommendations to the Mayor and City Council regarding actions and policies shaping municipal government, city departments and the community. Some aspects addressed include but are not limited to: economic retention and growth, public safety, parks and recreation and human relations throughout the City.
“Citizen input is vital to the success of our community,” said Mayor Carson Ross. “Our boards and commissions provide residents an opportunity to influence and enhance the quality of life in Blue Springs and give back to our community.”
Residents who want to serve can apply by downloading an application at www.bluespringsgov.com or contacting the City Clerk’s Office at 816-228-0111.
