Blue Springs, Mo. – Kathy Richardson, City Clerk for over 15 years, is announcing her retirement effective December 12, 2014. She will continue to work in her current capacity over the next four months to complete projects, goals, and to assist the City Administrator and other department personnel with the departments’ transition.
“I’m looking forward to enjoying my retirement, but will miss the daily interaction with the City Council, staff and residents of Blue Springs,” said Richardson. “I have truly enjoyed working with so many good people however, I intend on staying in Blue Springs and hope to become involved in our community on a different level.”
Richardson started her career with the City of Blue Springs in March 1999 as the Assistant City Clerk, and was promoted to City Clerk in March 2007.
“Kathy has served her city and community honorably. She is highly regarded for her kindness, professionalism and willingness to always go the extra mile to get the job done," said Mayor Carson Ross. “I want to personally thank Kathy for all that she has done for our community, and for assisting me personally over the years, and wish her best of luck in retirement.”
