BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. – This summer, kids are once again given the chance to compete against their peers in Blue Springs’ Kids Triathlon presented by the Blue Springs Hy-Vee. On Saturday, June 21, kids between the ages of 4-14 are encouraged to compete and have fun swimming, biking and running with friends. The competition will begin at the Blue Springs Family Y, 1300 SE Adams Dairy Parkway, Blue Springs with body marking starting at 6:15 a.m.
Registration for the Triathlon is open until June 18. Participants will compete in one of four categories: Tri for Tots (4-5 year olds), Novice (6-10 year olds) and Competitive Divisions (6-10 and 11-14 year olds.) Details and registration information can be found at www.bluespringsgov.com/kidstriathlon or by calling the Blue Springs Parks & Recreation Department at (816) 228-0137.
“Our goal is to make every participant feel like a winner and raise their self-esteem from competing in a real triathlon,” said Brandon Martin, Kids Triathlon Committee Chair. “I would like to thank all of our sponsors, volunteers and coordinators for their help making this event a success, especially Blue Springs Hy-Vee. Thanks to their support we were able to lower our registration costs this year making it possible for even more kids to participate.”
