Blue Springs, Mo. – Have you ever wondered what it was like to be a Blue Springs Police Officer? On Friday, May 10 from noon to 2 p.m., the City invites you to experience life as a police officer by following a “Tweet Along,” the 21st-century version of a ride along. To Tweet Along, follow the City’s twitter account @BlueSpringsGov or search the hashtag #bspdtweetalong.
The City’s communications manager will ride along with an officer tweeting what types of calls officers’ field, respond to twitter questions and give out crime prevention tips. Any information that could endanger someone – such as victims’ names or exact addresses – will not be tweeted.
This is the first live tweeting event for the City of Blue Springs. The City will also live tweet from the Comprehensive Plan Update Visioning Meeting on Tuesday, May 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., using the hashtag #planupdate.
