[ARCHIVED] City offices open tomorrow; court cancelled

BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. – Blue Springs City Hall and the Vesper Hall Community Center will be open tomorrow during normal business hours. Vesper Hall will not have meal service.

The Blue Springs Municipal Court is cancelled on Friday, February 22. Court staff will be calling legal representation for all persons scheduled for court appearance on Friday.

Blue Springs received over 8 inches of snow today with drifts over 12 inches deep thought the City. When snow reaches these depths, the snow removal process becomes more challenging.

Snow crews have completed passes on first, second and third priority streets and have made a single pass down many residential streets. Crews will continue to work around the clock to clear the streets as the snow continues to fall throughout the night.

A primary resident concern is the amount of snow that accumulates at the end of driveways after crews have completed the street plowing process. As each pass is made pushing the snow closer to the curb additional windrows will be created. We apologize for the inconvenience, but the windrows are an unavoidable part of the snow removal process.
