CENTRAL JACKSON COUNTY, Mo. – The Central Jackson County Emergency Management Agency is teaming up with KCTV 5 Chief Meteorologist Chris Suhan to host a weather radio programming and CodeRED signup event.
The event will be on Saturday, June 2 from 10 a.m. to noon at Price Chopper North, 1100 NW Highway 7, Blue Springs, MO.
“We encourage everyone to bring their weather radios or purchase one at the event and have it programmed to our area so you can keep up to date with the latest weather alerts for Jackson County,” said Todd Farley, Emergency Management Director for the Central Jackson County Emergency Management Agency. “You can also sign up for our CodeRED Emergency Notification System and receive information on how to start your own Family Emergency Plan.”
Project Community Alert (PCA) is a community-wide effort to distribute weather alert radios. The Metropolitan Emergency Managers Committee (MEMC) has partnered with Price Chopper grocery stores to sell the radios at a special price, $29.95.
