[ARCHIVED] Blue Springs Paper Shredding event aims to help residents dispose of personal documents safely

Blue Springs, Mo. – The City of Blue Springs and the Blue Springs Solid Waste Management Commission are sponsoring a mobile drive-up paper shredding event on July 30 from 9 -11a.m. at 10th & Main Street in Downtown Blue Springs in cooperation with the Blue Springs Chamber of Commerce and Blue Springs Downtown Alive! group. Participants should enter the drive-up event from south 10th Street as access from the north will be blocked.

Blue Springs businesses and residents will able to drop-off up to four paper grocery bags of documents to be shredded on-site. No need to remove paper clips, staples, folders, plastic covers or binding. All paper collected during the event will be recycled.

“Blue Springs residents and business owners can dispose of their confidential files and documents safely at this event,” said Mayor Carson Ross. “This paper shredding event is an opportunity for residents to reduce their potential for identity theft and support recycling in our community.”
