BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. – The City of Blue Springs is proud to announce that it has begun to use social media tools to better communicate with residents and others interested in Blue Springs. Social media sites including Facebook and Twitter, coupled with the City's existing communications tools, allow residents to receive continual updates and increase community access to local government.
"These new tools offer residents a new way to connect and communicate with their government," said Mayor Carson Ross. "Our goal is to help people be informed, be engaged and get involved in City issues."
Twitter users can now follow the City by visiting www.twitter.com/BlueSpringsGov. Facebook users can become "fans" of the City's page by logging onto www.facebook.com and searching for the City of Blue Springs, Mo. Links to both sites can be found by visiting the City’s Web site at www.bluespringsgov.com. Event photo galleries and links to recent news releases will be posted on both sites to keep visitors informed on happenings throughout the community. The City expects to add videos and a YouTube Channel in the spring to enhance its continuous efforts to communicate with residents.
