Economic Development Council
Overview
The Economic Development Council works to retain, support, and collaborate with existing businesses while also recruiting new businesses that are inline with the city’s long-term strategic plan.Established by Municipal Code Section 120.210.
Members
The Economic Development Council has a total of 14 members. The City appoints ten of the fourteen members. Four of the membership seats are standing positions appointed by: Blue Springs School District, Central Jackson County Fire Protection District, Blue Springs Chamber of Commerce, and Downtown Alive!. One Council member will be assigned annually to serve as a non-voting liaison. Those members appointed by the Mayor shall be for terms of three years. Members appointed by other entities shall serve until the entity appoints a replacement.
Meetings
Meetings are held at 8 a.m. on the third Wednesday of even numbered months in the Training Room - 210, City Hall, 903 W. Main. Annual Reports
